I joined Grovelands in 2010 after working at a large Engineering and Industrial recruitment firm for 7 years. I now have overall responsibility for the day to day running of the business but was initially responsible for managing our Contract Recruitment department before being promoted to CEO in 2014. I’m responsible for delivering the strategic objectives of the business alongside leading a number of key client relationships for Grovelands.
Outside of work I spend my time watching and playing sport – I’m a season ticket holder at Brighton & Hove Albion and I run, bike and surf.
DJ Marker | Finance Director
I graduated in Accounting and Finance in Brighton and had so much fun I have never left. At Grovelands I have been a Management Accountant and ran recruitment teams but I am much more comfortable driving the business forwards by leading fantastic Finance and Operations teams. As part of the Executive Leadership Team I develop our strategy and keep us accountable for the pace we deliver it. I am particularly passionate about how IT can shape our business for clients, colleagues and associates.
I love doing any sport that my Garmin watch can track my performance in, it keeps me honest.
Rosie Raouf | Head of Compliance
To uphold our exceptionally high standards of compliance, both internally and on behalf of our clients, I’m responsible for maintaining impeccable compliance practices across the business. I stay ahead of legislative changes to employment law, and with the help of my dedicated Contract Compliance team fully vet all of our candidates before they start an assignment through Grovelands.
I assess and manage the risks involved in engaging contractors for Grovelands and its clients as well as provide compliance advice to our contacts when required.
I’m an avid baker and was featured on BBC Sussex with my inventive hamburger cupcakes.
Alex Harle | Head of Technology & Change
I’ve worked in sales for over 12 years and have progressed from a background in advertising and product sales through to Account Director at a large global consumer goods company and now use this client side knowledge to help our current clients source and select the best in class technology and change candidates for their programmes and projects.
Over the past 8 years I have developed into a true resource consultant within the sectors of Life Sciences (Pharmaceuticals & Medical Devices) and Consumer Goods. My knowledge of the industry and the advice I provide, in addition to my ability to analyse and foresee our client’s resourcing needs sets me apart from our competitors and makes me a valuable asset to any client engagement.
I love rugby, NFL and skiing.
Mark Davies | Chairman
My career spans more than 29 years and it all started after I graduated from the University of Leicester when I joined the Prudential Graduate Programme. I went onto become a Partner at Deloitte and delivered complex regulatory projects across global Financial Services. As a Founder of Grovelands I have overseen the delivery of projects covering AML, conduct risk improvement and efficiency identification, but as Chairman my focus is on spending the majority of my time with clients.
The most important objective for me is for Grovelands to remain a dynamic and respected member of the business community and of society.
My favourite film is the Tony Curtis & Marilyn Monroe movie: Some Like It Hot.
David Leen | Co-Founder
I started my career working for the world’s largest recruitment company Adecco where I worked for five years. I then took a career move to a PLC Executive Search firm and ran their European Financial Services and Technology practice. This gave me the opportunity to see the greatest cities in Europe, albeit from the back of a taxi. As a Founder of Grovelands, I think I have the best job here; I nurture new and existing clients and my sole aim is that I want everyone to have the best time working with us.
I am in possession of the greatest ‘Knock-Knock’ joke ever written, drop me a line or call me and I will let you know what makes it so special.
