Following on from the changes in the prevention of illegal working, Grovelands has invested in a high technology ID document scanner to help detect fraudulent and stolen right to work documents.
Following on from the government’s changes in the prevention of illegal working back in May 2014, Grovelands is very pleased to announce that we have recently invested in a new state of the art ID document scanner to help detect fraudulent and stolen right to work documents.
According to the home office advice on document scanners, the machines can play an important role when verifying right to work and can offer support to the front line staff carrying out the checks.
After some detailed research on the scanners available and support packages on offer, we chose to purchase the scanner from NSL Validation Solutions, who are exclusive suppliers of Keesing products.
Our Contract Compliance team has received full training on the new equipment including methods of facial comparison techniques. We have already been putting our new skills into action!
Some of the key benefits of using the combined software and hardware are:
- Access to the Keesing fraud helpdesk should we have questions or a document is flagged
- An obvious audit trail when proving right to work.
Keesing work closely with government agencies to ensure the quality of the validations, so we can certainly rely on their technology.
How does it work?
When we meet our potential associates, their ID document will be scanned and a high definition image will be uploaded onto the Keesing system. A number of automatic checks will then take place against multiple security features on the document. These features can include:
- MRZ (Machine Readable Zone)
- Ink density
- Embedded chip
- UV reaction
Once the check is complete, a PDF report is produced which details the checks carried out, and is then saved in a secure vetting file. The whole process has a full audit trail and is in compliance with the government’s Civil Penalty Scheme.
Grovelands take right to work checking very seriously and feel that the introduction of the new hardware will only improve the quality service that we offer. Contact us today for more information on how Grovelands conduct the vetting process and how we can help you.
