Grovelands’ CEO, Ben Wilson, provides a quick update about the FCA’s final PPI rules.
With the FCA publishing their final PPI rules we now know the steps firms need to take to deal with PPI complaints before the deadline comes into force. We also know that in the coming months firms will need to proactively contact approximately 1.2m previously rejected PPI complainants who could make a new complaint regarding the Plevin issues. We continue to provide a variety of resourcing solutions to support firms in all aspects of PPI complaint handling, now and into the future.
The headlines are:
- Firms that sold PPI are required to write to previously rejected mis-selling complainants who are eligible to complain again in light of Plevin, in order to explain this to them
- Plevin and deadline rules come into force on 29 August 2017 – fee rule is immediate
- The deadline date is finalised as 29 August 2019
We want to make sure that all our clients and contractors are kept up to date on issues and will be publishing a weekly blog covering new topics and sharing practical approaches. We also hosting a series of industry events; one of our event themes for the next six months is going to be PPI.
