The Grovelands Graduate Recruitment (GGR) team has had a fantastic year packed with a variety of projects in both financial services and TMT. Tom Henderson looks back at what the team have been working on over the past year, and shares their plans for 2014.
The last 6 months have flown by for Grovelands Graduate Recruitment (GGR).
We have 4 new additions to our team, bringing the headcount to 16 strong resourcers – which is much needed to reflect the work coming in. This has enabled the team to be split into 2 specialisms: Financial Services and New Ventures.
Our Financial Services team plans ahead
The Graduate Financial Services team started H2 2013 with a huge exciting requirement of 75 graduates. This focussed on a range of roles that were adding to an existing remediation’s team based in the North East. We now have over 100 associates placed on this project, as well as on equivalent sized projects across the UK, and the newer contract graduates can now declare themselves accredited case handlers for a top 5 bank.
Whilst we are all aware of how PPI has been in the forefront of the banking industry for some time, both we and our associates are mindful that it is slowly winding down. So what does this mean for GGR? For a lot of our graduate contractors, it means a little more education in the form of professional qualifications such as CeMAP, which will prepare their market knowledge for products such as mortgages.
Paving the way to greatness
In GGR we like to add a little fun, so to aid our delivery we have our very own ‘Yellow Brick Road’ incentive where bricks are earned for each placement made away from PPI.
At a month in we were already halfway up the road, so as a treat GGR headed off to the ice rink, which was a lot of fun. I believe the next winning brick results in a trip to Jamie Oliver’s Recipease where we will all add an exciting new dish to our repertoires.
Our New Ventures team collaborates with TMT
H2 has been equally exciting for our New Ventures team. In support of the TMT business, they have worked ferociously to develop their network in Junior Network Engineers looking to gain permanent employment. Our clients are some of the largest B2B network providers in the market and we now provide consistent growth to their resources from the West Country to Spain.
As well as earning their fare share of commission, New Ventures will certainly be one of the most ‘dapper’ teams in Grovelands, as each member will be awarded with a new suit once they make a dozen top quality placements.
What does the future hold for GGR?
With the perfect bespoke recruitment model to work from, and a willing and able team who has travelled 80,000 miles across Europe in the last 6 months, there is no industry or sector we will not deliver for.
We hope to work with you soon!
