Grovelands gets together for a Christmas party — filled with pizza, secret santa, and a magical trip to Bohemia!
Oh, the weather outside is frightful, but the Grovelands Christmas party was delightful!
After what had been an incredibly successful year for Grovelands and its associates, what better way to celebrate than holding a festive seasonal party to bring the year to close?! In true office party fashion, we decided to get in the festive spirit just before the end of the day.
We were lucky enough to be provided with an array of rather tasty pizzas from Brighton’s famed Pizzaface to keep us going. We also partook in the traditional Secret Santa, with mixed results. Some were delighted with their gifts, some were somewhat bemused, some burst into fits of giggles. All in all, Santa had been very successful this year!
At the end of play, it was time to get ready for the office party ahead, which this year took place at Bohemia. In what is normally a calm and serene office, a certain sense of panic took hold as frocks, make-up and aftershave came out in full force as one and all donned their best in anticipation of the night’s festivities ahead. Surprisingly, everyone arrived promptly at Bohemia in the charming South Lanes and we were greeted with a welcome glass of festive fizz.
As we all settled in for the night, we were surprised to find magician Matt Perro in our midst. As he worked his magic around the room, us Grovelanders were left mesmerised and enthralled as we all tried to figure out how the card tricks had been performed – unless of course, they weren’t tricks, and our magician was in fact some kind of warlock?!
Bohemia provided a fabulous setting, and the warm welcome we received set the backdrop for a fantastic evening. The canapés also provided entertainment, in particular, the parsnip chips. For those expecting more traditional potato based fries, the shock at finding they had actually chowed down on this sweet root vegetable produced some rather humorous facial expressions. Sadly, we have no pictures to back this up…
The remainder of the night was largely spent on the dance floor, with Beyonce’s ‘Crazy in Love’ and Michael Jackson’s ‘Thriller’ proving to be particular favourites (the outcome from the latter song could potentially inspire a Halloween re-enactment next year!). All in high spirits, we danced the night away, bringing to a close what has been a fantastic year for Grovelands, and with everyone looking forward to what the New Year will bring!
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
