Rachel Gooch and Vicky Rose headed to the Surrey Grad fair last week, with the aim of meeting as many graduates as possible and to spread the word about Grovelands’ unique style of recruitment.
On 21st May 2013 Vicky Rose and I went to the University of Surrey in Guildford for their Summer Careers Fair. The aim was to see as many graduates as possible and introduce them to Grovelands unique and exciting style of recruitment!
The fair consisted of employers such as engineering consultancies, business consultancies and popular retail chains. Upon arrival we set up our stand, complete with sweets, leaflets and posters.
The fair kicked off at 2pm and we eagerly awaited the first batch of graduates to come through the door. Everyone was intrigued to find out more about Grovelands – what we do, who we work for and what roles we offer – all of which we were able to discuss at the stand. We saw a lot of fresh faces and like many people in their 20s, many don’t know what they want to do with their degrees, so Vicky explained the transferrable skills that apply to all degree disciplines. Grovelands’ employees have degrees ranging from accounting and economics to history and sports science. It is their drive and determination to develop and be developed as young professionals that sees them really succeed. That and the incentive of uncapped financial rewards of course!
The opportunity to work for Grovelands in Brighton was a big plus; many had visited and loved the idea of being able to see the sea from our office. The fact that it’s fun, friendly and easily accessible was a real draw. The sweets however weren’t: Haribo and lollipops were on offer for everyone who came to say hello but we still managed to return with a giant bag of leftovers!
We look forward to maintaining a relationship with the University of Surrey and to continuing Grovelands’ rapid growth by employing their graduates.
