We finished off a hectic Monday and kicked off the summer in true Grovelands style by heading down to the sunny Yellowave Beach Volleyball court!
To kick off the summer in true Grovelands style, the team finished a hectic Monday in the office and headed down to Madeira Drive for a riveting session of Volleyball in the sun!
After getting kitted up, with many still opting to look ‘cool’ in sunglasses, Laura Real, our fantastic organiser, had the lively teams warm up to begin. As you can imagine this was a task in itself, with some 22+ employees eagerly waiting to get stuck in the sand whilst revelling in the out-of office team building atmosphere.
For two hours, the four teams battled to come out on top of the miniature tournament that had developed during the course of the day. There was a handful of skill involved, with some fantastic rallies forming from time to time, but the experience was topped by embarrassing blunders and enthusiastic words of encouragement!
Particular highlights included Adam getting hit in the head with the volleyball… possibly whilst staring at Rachel’s model-like legs! Kieran and Hannah were secret weapons for team three when it came to their serving skills and likewise Ashleigh Belgrave for team one! Chris Flynn may also be taking up a semi-professional career after realising his talents and implementation of strategy on and off the sand. With many nicknames being formed including, Tom Henderson ‘the Hammer’ and ‘Dangerous DJ’, the evening ended with nachos, beer and a closer Grovelands family.
Well done Grovelands!
