Here at Grovelands we are always pleased to provide as much market info and analysis to our clients, contacts and associates as possible. With this in mind, we have developed a series of Insights reports that examine a different aspect of the recruitment market each year.
As we are a small company, we produce the report in house, using our own expertise to develop and analyse the data and to provide a written commentary (although we do have outside help on the design). So it would be wonderful to see the report shared and read as much as possible.
This edition we have elected to focus on the graduate market specifically. The attraction, recruitment, and retention of graduate workers is something many of our clients ask us to advise on, and is something that every business world wide should be regularly considering in order to sustain a future for their company.
At Grovelands we spend a great deal of time and energy recruiting from the graduate market, embracing the fresh ideas, approaches and knowledge that the cohort of university leavers bring. However it has been widely noted that this year’s graduate generation (known as the Millennials) are something quite different to their predecessors.
This generation is the first to have grown up with the internet and, with increased university attendance, is also the most highly educated to have entered the job market. Several studies, including our own have noted the key distinctions in how this new generation views working life, gaining employment, and completes the jobs they are hired to do. This is something businesses should all be aware of and possibly adjusting their recruitment processes in order capture the best talent.
